And They Call the Thing Rodeo....

Last weekend, Jason and I decided to take Nathan to his first rodeo.  Every year during the 2nd week in June they have the Gladewater Roundup in the next town.  Jason remembered going as a kid and thought that Nathan would like it.  Boy was he right!  Thankfully Aunt EJ was available to watch Ryan so that Jason and I could just take Nathan and let him get a little "only child" time again!  He also got to stay up super late since it didn't even begin till after bedtime.  Neither Jason or I can remember Nathan EVER sitting still for such a long period of time.  On our way back home, he kept asking when he could go back and started crying when we said he had to wait a year.  We finally got him to stop when we told him he could watch it on TV.  We now have a few Rodeo's set to record on our DVR.....

All ready for the rodeo in our cowboy boots!  These boots have seen their days.....these were Jason's boots as a little boy and have been glued a number of times so Nathan could wear them.

Nathan was brave enough to ride a mechanical bull!  He rode it about 15-20 seconds..which is about 14 seconds longer than the little boy before him rode it.  I was impressed he rode it that long!

 Riding the ponies.  When he got off, he kept pointing to "his" pony and cried when another little boy got on "his" pony after his turn.

We had a great trip and can't wait to go back next year.  Nathan might be old enough next year to chase a calf (they open it to all kids 8 and under).
