Nathan is Two!!
It's so hard to believe that our little boy is 2 already! We had our first visit with our new pediatrician and we LOVE her! It turns out that her little girl is actually in Nathan's class at his new school. Thankfuflly we did not have to have any shots at this visit so it was just a quick meet and greet and the standard stats, questions, etc. Nathan's stats at 2 years old are:
Weight: 26 lbs (25th percentile)
Height: 34.75 in (60th percentile)
Head: 19.75 (85th percentile)
I did bring up our concerns about Nathan appearing to be bow-legged, so while she was not concerned and did not think it was anything major, she decided to have his legs x-rayed to make sure there was nothing wrong with his bones. Thankfully his bones were fine and we will just continue to watch his bow-leggedness over the next year and hopefully it can correct itself.
At two years old he:
- is in to anything that relates to: cars, trucks, 18-wheelers, tractors, trains and boats.
- is starting to make sentences with quite a few words although they aren't always correct grammar (my favorite is "Daddy hold you" which means he wants you to pick up him up and hold him). Also if you tell him something, he's going to repeat your sentence a few times until he understands it.
- is becoming VERY independent and I do mean VERY. He wants to do EVERTHING himself and doesn't understand that there are things he can't do himself. While this is a good thing, it is frustrating because it takes him forever to do it!
Birthday Weekend:
On Nathan's actualy birthday (August 30), we took him to Chuck-E-Cheese for pizza and games. It should not be surprising that he was more interested in the games than the pizza. Jason and I took him around and let him play all sorts of games. He was actually more interested in the "big" kid games (baseball, basketball, etc) than the little kids games/rides.
On Labor Day weekend, my parents and brother came up and we had Nathan's birtday party with my parents and his parents. We hung out by the pool at Jason's parents and rode the boat on the lake. (This day was actually my brother's 19th birthday so we had a little cake for him as well.) Below are pictures of all the fun we had for Nathan's 2nd "birthday party".
Swimming with Uncle Eric. We loved jumping off the side of the pool to him!
Gigi and Peepaw watching Nathan and Eric.
Daddy and Nathan on the tube! Such a big boy!
Helping Granddad drive the boat!
Nathan insisted that Eric's cake have a car on it as well!
Nathan's birthday cake! My first attempt at making a cake myself and I think it turned out pretty good!
Birthday boys blowing out their candles!
Yummy cake! This time, we did not get icing all over our face!
Playing with one of our new presents!
Quick See-doo ride with the family! Nathan HAD to drive and got made when Jason tried to help him!
Happy Birthday sweet boy! We can't wait to see what this next year brings us! (Hopefully we lose the terrible twos quickly!!)
