Fun & Gigi & Pawpaw's

This past weekend Jason and his dad participated in their annual Father/Son golf tournament.  It was held in the Woodlands this year so I took the opportunity to spend the weekend in East Bernard with my parents and the boys.  We had not been to East Bernard since my grandfather Pribyl's funeral in December so it was nice to see some of my family who I haven't seen in quite a while and for them to see the boys and vice versa.  We all drove to the Woodlands together where the boys and I dropped off Jason at the golf course where he then met up with his dad.  The boys and I then made the rest of the trip to East Bernard by ourselves.  Our weekend was quite busy and was filled with lots of fun!

I'm going to try to summarize and post all the pictures in this weekend in one post....

We got to East Bernard Thursday around 3 where the boys took it upon themselves as soon as they got there to go into Uncle Eric's room and get all of his old toys he lets the boys play with when they come visit (Legos, cars, etc).  We then went to the pool across the street from my parents to let the boys play in the water.  Nathan showed off his swimming and diving for rings and Ryan showed off his jumping skills.  Later that evening my Grandfather came by to see the boys and eat supper with us.  After supper we sat outside and the boys played in their sandbox.  My Uncle Mark also stopped by for a few minutes and the boys just ran straight up to him.

Driving down Thursday morning. Thank heavens for DVD players in cars on 5 hour trips!

Splashpad fun at the pool!

Nathan LOVED diving for sticks!

Doing a great job!

Sandbox fun!

High-fiving Uncle Mark!

Friday we spent most of the day at the Splashway waterpark.  We have gone their every summer with my parents since 2012 (Ryan's first year he was in my belly!).  This year we met my best friend Kristin and her two oldest there as well.  I think everybody had a blast!  Nathan was so tired afterwards that we had problems waking him up to eat supper.   My Grandma Pribyl and Uncle Glenn enjoyed a yummy supper of pizza with us Friday night.  After supper Friday night the boys played outside some more.  My brother taught Nathan how to throw a ball on the roof of the house and then catch it.  I'm telling you - that kept him entertained for quite a while!  Sadly I did not get any pictures of the boys with my Grandma or Uncle Glen :(

Nathan & Aubrey

Nathan & Luke racing down the slides

Poor Ryan threw a fit when the lifeguards told him he wasn't tall enough to ride the big slides with Nathan.  Thankfully it didn't last long and he enjoyed the other slides.

Sadly they all enjoyed watching the cement truck cement for more cabanas.

Stringers & Freytags!

He was OUT!

Taking a break from ball throwing to enjoy some popsicles!

Saturday we hung around the house most of the morning and then in the late morning me and my mom took the boys to the new park in town.  They had fun playing on the new play-set.  We then took a walk into the "woods".  The new park is built along a little river in town so the back end of the park is against the woods where the river is.  There is a little trail that you can walk on that leads you the the river. When then build the trail they had put little animal footprints in the concrete so as we were walking along it, Nathan thought they were real animal footprints!  After our walk in the woods the boys took a nap and then we went to the Ringling Bros Barnamum and Bailey Circus in Houston.  The boys had a blast there and were mesmerized.  We also ran into my Uncle Bubba and Aunt Ava there!  Afterwards we all went out to eat at my Uncle favorite restaurant.

Tree-fort fun!

Pretty cool play-set!

Picking flowers on our walk into the forest!

The boys loved looking at all the trees

Pre-circus fun!

The boys and I with my Uncle Bubba and Aunt Ava!

The circus entrance.  If you look closely there are actually gymnasts in the glass balls hanging down!

There are 8 motorcycles being driven in that ball!

Kristin's mom actually used a discount card my mom got from work and their family ended up sitting DIRECTLY behind us!  Aubrey and her elephant.

The boys were entranced...

Lions and tigers, oh my!

Sunday morning we went to church and then to the local volunteer fire departments annual fundraiser.  They always have a fried chicken lunch and auction.  This year my mom made an Aggie quilt out of old shirts for the auction so we stayed until it had been auctioned off.  Nathan and Ryan both loved all the fire trucks that they had outside.  After my mom's quilt was auctioned off the boys and I started our way back to the Woodlands to pick Jason up and head home.

Firetruck fun!

Eating fried chicken like a big boy!

A picture of the quilt my mom made

Overall, we had a GREAT weekend!  It was full of lots of fun and great times seeing family and friends!

Thanks Pawpaw, Gigi and Uncle Eric for putting up with us!!
