Balloon Glow 2015

One of my favorite things about East Texas in July is the Hot Air Balloon Races.  Each July Longview hosts the Great East Texas Balloon Race.  Starting about mid-July you start to see the hot air balloons in the air flying in the mornings.  I don't know what it is about them but I love looking at them.  They usually have the races during the week and then at the end of the week they have a Balloon Glow, concert and games for the kids.  It is usually held at the airport and they have games, booths, concert, etc.  If you are looking for something fun to do, I highly recommend it!

This week on Friday they had special shapes hot air balloons go up at different places around town.  On the way into school and work we tried to go by as many as possible to show the boys.  Here's some of the special shapes balloons we saw.

Friday evening we went out to the airport for the balloon glow.  The boys had tons of fun playing in the kids area on the bounce houses and watching all the hot air balloons blow up.  It did take Ryan a few minutes to get used to the heat and noise of the balloons but once he did, he loved them!  We ran into Jason's high school friend (and best friend) Kory, his wife and their twins while we were there.

The wagon came in handy later in the evening as the boys were tired.

It was so fast that Ryan ended up going down on his tummy!

This was a HUGE balloon!

Spider-man pig was Nathan's favorite!

The boys did pretty well overall and had a blast!  Can't wait for next year!
