15 months!

Ryan turned 15 months old today.  He has grown so much in the past week alone, it's crazy!  I can't believe how much he understands.  He is also trying to do all the stuff that Nathan can do - like carry his lunch box to school.  He looks SO big that it almost made me cry this morning.

At 15 months Ryan:

  • wears size 4, sometimes 5 diaper
  • wears size 4 shoe
  • wears both 12 and 18 month outfits
  • takes anywhere from a 1 to 3 hour nap
  • Usually sleeps from about 7:45 pm to 6:45 am
  • is starting to show his temper (BIG TEMPER!)
  • Is starting to defend himself against Nathan (will push him away, down)
  • say "mama", "dada", "bye", "uh-oh",  fire - pronounced "fia", and sometimes "hot"  He can also babble and you can tell he's trying so hard to tell you something.
  • still has just 6 teeth (4 on top, 2 on the bottom)
  • Although he can't say much, he can let you know what he wants by pointing and understands what you are saying.  Examples:
    • When you ask him to let the dogs in from outside, he goes to the back door and reaches up for the door knob babbling
    • When you tell him it's bath time, he goes to the bathroom pointing and babbling
    • When you tell him it's time to go outside, he goes to the garage door pointing and babbling
    • When you tell him it's time to eat, he goes to the fridge and tries to open it,  He will also go when he's telling you he's hungry
    • When you say the word "Popsicle" he will go to the freezer door and try to open it
    • Every evening lately when Jason gets home, he points to the fireplace saying "fia" telling daddy to start the fire

  • Waves "bye bye" and gives air kisses
  • Drinks really good out of a sippy but still gets a bottle at bedtime
  • Climbs on everything
  • LOVES to drop things only to say "uh-oh!"
  • Will open his mouth and say "aah" when you ask him where his mouth is.  Will look at (and sometimes wiggle) his feet when you ask him where his feet are.
  • Is now insisting on carrying his lunch box out of the house in the morning and out of school in the evenings.  This morning, he even carried both his and Nathan's.
  • Runs and walk backwards
  • Dances to any and all music (toys, radio, TV, phone).  It's the funniest!  He puts his arms outward and moves them all over and kind of squats down .
  • Will put toys in containers where they belong
This is such a fun age to watch him grow.  I can't wait to see how he continues to grow!
